Biotium RuBPS (Ruthenium(tris(bathophenanthrolinedisulfonate), tetrasodium salt)
RuBPS is a negatively-charged water-soluble luminescent ruthenium complex that can be efficiently excited by either UV or visible light in the wavelength range from 400-500 nm, with bright red emission centered around 605 nm. Ruthenium complexes such as RuBPS typically have luminescence lifetimes in the micro-second range and a Stokes shift over 100 nm. By using time-resolved luminescence measurement, the combination of long luminescent lifetime and large Stokes shift offers the possibility for extremely sensitive detection that could approach the sensitivity of radioactive detection. Biotium GelRed Nucleic Acid Gel Stain, 10,000X in DMSO, bulk pack
GelRed is a sensitive, stable and environmentally safer alternative to the highly toxic ethidium bromide (EB) for staining dsDNA, ssDNA or RNA in agarose or polyacrylamide gels (see PAGE GelRed Nucleic Acid Gel Stain). The dye is noncytotoxic, nonmutagenic and nonhazardous at concentrations used in gel staining. It can be conveniently disposed down the drain or in regular trash at working concentrations, reducing disposal costs. It is much more sensitive than EB or SYBR Safe and extremely stable for long-term room temperature storage. Simple to use in precast or post-electrophoresis gel staining and detected with a UV transilluminator in the same optical setting used for EB. APPBP1/UBA3 is the heterodimeric E1 enzyme that conjugates Nedd8 to protein substrates. Nedd8 is conjugated onto the catalytic cysteine residue of UBA3 by formation of a thioester bond in an ATP-dependent reaction. The activated Nedd8 is then passed on to an E2 (Ubc12) to be finally attached to a substrate. Nedd8 is mainly conjugated on Cullins to increase the activity of the Cullin – RING E3 Ub ligases.
